India is a country located in Southeast Asia, having an enormous population of 1.37 billion people, making it the second-most populous country in the whole world! This country is known for its deeply rooted history, rich culture, and scenic beauty. Its climate is also very diverse, allowing you to relax on its beaches in the summers, but, also give you a taste of snowfall in the winters of the Himalayas.

A “mogul” in the trade industry, the country is home to 12 seaports equally distributed over its coastline and has seen the exportation of silk and wool items along with jewelry, engineering goods, and much more.
India is also home to the Siddhi people. These are Bantu peoples of East African origin who arrived in India in the 7th century CE and mainly inhabit Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. They number around 25-70,000 across the country and although most came as slaves, some came as merchants, sailors and mercenaries. Nowadays, many work in agricultural and service roles to survive and some perform cultural dances for locals and tourists visiting their communities.
There are many other tourist spots that are worth a visit. Ladakh for its beautiful snow-capped mountains and glacial lakes, Gujarat for the “Rann of Kutch” which is a stunning salt marsh or Jaisalmer for an experience of the golden Thar desert.
