Sri Lanka: An Island Wave

$1615 per person

You haven’t had a true island experience until you take on Sri Lanka. There’s a common idea that those who visit fall so in love that they end up staying. With beautiful, untouched beaches, glorious mountains, temples, tea plantations, mouthwatering cuisine and some of the most hospitable locals, you’re about to have the cultural experience of a lifetime.

Whilst it’d be amazing to have everyone join, we aim to keep our group experiences intimate, fun and authentic with an average of 15 people on a Wind Collective Experience. It’s important to us have a fun & positive community dynamic. We believe in inviting everyone to see the world and live like the wind with us so check out the below to ensure this is the right trip for you!

THIS TRIP IS FOR YOU IF:

âž³ You love off the beaten track adventures, local insider knowledge and an authentic experience

âž³ You’re down for trying new things and new activities

âž³ You’re easygoing and love a damn good time – let’s roll!

THIS TRIP IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

âž³ You are not open to meeting, having conversation with or interacting with locals & fellow travelers

âž³ You’re not up for trying new things and getting out of your comfort zone

âž³ Your idea of a group trip is no free time and no new adventures

âž³ You’re looking for an ultra luxury holiday (we love the mix of high life and cultural immersion. We keep our prices affordable so that everyone can see the world without breaking the bank)

1
Day 1

All skies lead to this ‘tear drop’ shaped island paradise in the Indian Ocean. Arrive in the capital, Colombo, drop your bags and grab a tuk-tuk to discover this energetic city.

2
Day 2
You’re not going to believe this place. Kandy is nestled in the hills of Sri Lankan and if you’re lucky you’ll have moments where the clouds will be so low that you feel you’re in heaven. Spend the day around Kandy Lake, with a bag of chili salt mangoes and pineapples. Walk through lanes of colourful houses and visit Maligawa Temple, more famously known as Temple of the Tooth, which houses the relic of one of Buddha’s teeth.
3
Day 3
Ever been scrolling through Instagram to spot an image of a blue train going around a curved railway bridge with a backdrop of some of the best green hills ever? Well, yup that’s Sri Lanka. We’ll be jumping on board this iconic route from Kandy to Ella to experience Sri Lanka’s famous railway system and grab those amazing memory shots whilst we’re at it! Upon arrival we’ll grab dinner - keeping it traditional with a curry of fish, chicken, or lentils.
4
Day 4
When you think ‘Sri Lanka’ - you’re probably imagining amazing beaches. We'll get there! But first, how about mountains, and waterfalls and temples? Welcome to Sri Lanka’s laid back Hill Country. Hike to unbelievable view points and roam around picturesque tea plantations and temples. Head back to out boutique accommodation for a traditional massage and the best cup of tea you’ll probably ever have.
5
Day 5
It’s a Safari Affair! Sri Lanka is known for its amazing wildlife and has some of the highest number of Asian elephants and leopards worldwide. We’ll take a convoy of open door 4x4s into Udawalawa National Park to experience nature’s finest. Have your camera ready as you’re likely to see elephants up close. You'll feel at one with nature but still in luxury as we settle down for a night of glamping.
6
Day 6
On to Mirissa, one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and laid back beaches. Go for a wander to take it all in - spending your day lounging, chatting to street vendors, and getting your Instagram shots (picture laying in a hammock, coconut in hand). If you want to see marine life, jump on our boat tour to see whales and dolphins in their natural habitats. In the evening, Mirissa beach transforms into resto-bars serving delicious food and tasty cocktails.
7
Day 7
It’s not a trip to Sri Lanka if golden beaches aren’t involved and the beaches down South are some of the best. We’ll be heading to Weligama where you can walk along the beach - or better yet, try your hand at a surf lesson. Weligama’s sandy and shallow beach is perfect for beginners and you only live once right? So, grab a board and hit the waves.
8
Day 8
After breakfast, we’ll be heading to Galle where we’ll have an orientation walk around the famous Galle Fort. This Unesco World Heritage site is a historic beauty with winding lanes, quirky cafes, and boutique art galleries. We’ll be chasing sunset to Unuwatuna Beach. Think psychedelic colours and the Instagrammable palm tree swing.
9
Day 9
All good things must come to an end but not before a spot of souvenir shopping to pick up jewellery, silk, spices and ceylon tea. We’ll wrap up a long week, sharing our highlights before hopping into private transfers to the airport. Until next time.
